How often does SocialToo check for new followers and unfollowers?
We are constantly working to speed up the process of making the auto follow and unfollow process as close to immediate as possible, however, with a large userbase and limited resources, this process can currently take between 30 minutes and 3 hours after the person follows or stops following you. As the Twitter API improves this process will also improve. We are constantly working on new ways around the Twitter API to make this process much faster and more immediate.

Help! It's not following anyone! Why isn't it following those who follow me?
SocialToo won't auto-follow under a number of circumstances. The first thing we recommend is that you check your Twitter credentials. The number one reason it won't follow for you is because your Twitter credentials are wrong. Try re-entering them and give it a couple hours to start following. Second, be sure you have checked, "Automatically follow those that follow you?" If that is not checked, it will not follow those that follow you on Twitter. Lastly, see the FAQ question below on your Twitter ratio. If all those have been verified, be sure you give it up to 3-4 hours to follow, as some times load on our servers can take longer than others. We are constantly working on new ways to speed up this process to make it more immediate.

I can't find my auto-dm/auto-responder. Where did it go?i
SocialToo has discontinued the automatic direct message service in order to favor a cleaner stream for our users and other users on Twitter and elsewhere. Because of this we are not a messaging company, and discourage the practice of auto-DMing new followers. Our own studies have proven that it has a much greater detriment on brand image than it helps, and there are only few cases where this is the exception. If you absolutely must, we do suggest a service such as Twitter DMer to send auto-responses to your followers. You can read more about our decision to do this at http://blog.socialtoo.com/2009/02/28/time-to-take-a-stand-yes-were-ending-the-dms/ on our blog.

I can't login - how do I get my username or password?
To reset your password please try doing so via our Forgot Password form at http://socialtoo.com/forgot. If that doesn't work, or you have forgotten your SocialToo username (not just the password), e-mail us any time at contact@socialtoo.com.

I am following 2,000 people, but SocialToo is not following anyone new. Why is auto follow not working?
Twitter has limits in place that prevent new follows of those with 2,000 friends and much fewer followers. Twitter will not let us follow any more until you get very close to 2,000 people following you (Twitter has not specified what that number is, but our experience is it's very close to 2,000). When you break that ratio we will start auto-following all those we tried to auto-follow before the ratio limits were reached.

My stat report e-mail says I gained X followers/unfollowers when I know it was really Y. It's innacurate - what gives?
Each nightly follow/unfollow stats e-mail is a representation of each time we were able to run our scripts on your account and try to detect changes. At times when the Twitter API is slow (believe it or not this happens more often than we would like!), your stats may be innacurate, especially if you follow a lot of people. We try to run as fast as possible, but unfortunately can only run as fast as the Twitter API will allow us! Our best suggestion is to be patient, and as the Twitter API gets better so will your stats.
Another option you can always try is to set up auto-forwarding of all your new follow DMs to autofollow@socialtoo.com. We process each of those real-time, although it will not catch your unfollows. You can learn how to do that in our howto blog post - you'll need to adapt it for your own e-mail platform.

Will SocialToo follow people that followed me before I joined SocialToo?
If you enable auto-follow on your account, we will follow everyone who follows you from the time you join SocialToo forward. That option is free. However, you can purchase a one-time $5 premium feature which will enable us to "catch up" those who followed you before joining SocialToo. To purchase that, click on the Paypal link next to "Catch up all your previous Twitter follows?", or login, and click here and we'll get you caught up.
Once you've paid and we've enabled the option in your preferences you'll see a red, yellow, or green message under your Preferences tab next to the option, telling you the status of the catch up. It can take a few hours to catch up after you first pay.

How do I bulk unfollow those who do not follow me?
For those who stop following you during the time you are on SocialToo, we can auto-unfollow them for free through the "Unfollowing Preferences" link on the left-hand nav under Preferences. Just click on "Unfollowing Preferences" on the left, then select "Unfollow everyone who unfollows me" and click "Submit". Or, if you only want to selectively unfollow just those people that stop following you that show the spammy behavior of following you one day, but unfollowing you the next, you can select "Unfollow based on filters" and select the duration and filters you would like us to unfollow off of. Don't forget to hit "Submit"!
Of course, you can always just start over and delete all your friends by purchasing the $25 option to do so under your Preferences tab. The purchase is one-time, and you can run it as often as you like.

The Facebook "click here" link isn't working. What's wrong?
This is a bug and we're working to fix it. In the meantime, please first, ensure your pop-ups aren't being blocked by your browser, and second, try a browser other than Internet Explorer and it should work. Currently, our most tested environment is Firefox and Safari, so those browsers will always give you the richest experience. We will always work to improve this for other environments however.

How do I cancel my account?
We regret to lose any of our users, so please don't hesitate to contact us! However, to delete your account, click the "Delete my account" link under the Preferences tab. If you could leave us feedback for why you are leaving it is sincerely appreciated.
